The Poetry of Charles Causley: Jim Causley with Julie Murphy & Ceri Owen-Jones at Fowey Festival

photo[1]To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of this celebrated Cornish poet, Jim Causley, his distant relative, together with Julie Murphy & Ceri Owen-Jones, has recorded an album of his poems set to music.

The album was recorded live in Charles’ house in Launceston, using his piano, in collaboration with the Charles Causley Trust.

Jim, a five times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee, Julie & Ceri will  be performing a selection of these pieces as well as recitations of poems and related traditional songs of the region, at the Fowey Festival in May.

Charles Causley, acknowledged as one of the finest 20th Century poets, lived in the Cornish town of Launceston for most of his life. He was made a CBE in 1986.
